After water, tea is the most widely consumed beverage in the world.
Although rich in history and tradition, tea is actually quite simple. And believe it or not, green, black, white and oolong all come from the same Camellia sinensis plant. It's the differences in processing methods that create the varieties. Many other teas exist, known as herbal teas (chamomile, hibiscus, etc), spice teas (chai), guayusa, and yerba mate. It's important to distinguish the different teas, as the nutritional values, caffeine content, and health benefits can vary from drink to drink.
