Processing: Green tea is made of fresh unfermented tea leaves that are immediately heated to stop the oxidation process and then dried. The heating method is either by: pan-frying- which gives the leaves a more “grassy” taste or steaming- giving the leaves a more “vegetal” flavor.
Benefits: a high antioxidant count that combined with flavonoids also found in the tea can prevent skin damage, lower blood pressure improve blood flow, lower cholesterol, and improve bone strength. Containing some caffeine it can also be used as a stimulant.
Many green teas pair well with mild foods like leafy salads and chicken.
