We encourage you to experiment with brewing styles and methods to find what you like best! These are some suggested guidelines based on the Western Brewing Method that we would recommend for anyone getting started with tulsi tea.

1. Add 1 teaspoon tea per 6 oz. cup to your infuser / pot.
2. Pour boiling water over tea (212°F).
3. Steep for at least 5-8 minutes.

Tulsi Tea

Tulsi, also known as Holy Basil, has a rich history steeped in the heart of Indian tradition and Hindu religious customs. Its origin is traced back over 5,000 years to ancient India. While it is uncertain who first began using Tulsi for medicinal purposes, it has been a cornerstone in Ayurvedic medicine for centuries due to its purported health benefits and healing properties. Tulsi is venerated in Hinduism and often planted around Hindu shrines. It is considered a sacred plant and is worshipped by many Hindus who believe it to be the earthly manifestation of the goddess Tulsi, who is regarded as an avatar of Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth and principal consort of Vishnu. The plant is used in various religious ceremonies and rituals and is also highly valued for its adaptogenic and anti-stress properties. It wasn't until recently that Tulsi started gaining recognition worldwide for its therapeutic properties.
